The Ennovation Center wants everyone who visits ennovationcenter.com to be able to learn about our programs, schedule a tour, register for events, and contact us, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.
Our standard
This website is designed and maintained toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which also covers WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test the site with automated tools at desktop and mobile sizes, with keyboard-only navigation, and with screen reader spot checks, and we fix what we find in the site itself rather than relying on an add-on overlay widget.
What we have done
- Improved color contrast for buttons, highlights, and text
- Added visible keyboard focus indicators and a skip-to-content link
- Gave clear names to icon-only buttons and links, including the logo and the mobile menu
- Made every link in the mobile menu reachable by keyboard, and confirmed the menu and pop-ups close with Escape
- Confirmed form fields are labeled, added autofill support, and made event RSVP forms easier to reach by keyboard
- Corrected page heading structure so screen reader users can navigate by heading
- Reduced automatic motion: the homepage image carousel and background photos no longer move on their own, the background video on the Clients & Success Stories page has a pause button, the main slideshow pauses when you hover over it or move into it, and animations respect the “reduce motion” setting on your device
Known limitations
Some parts of this site are provided by other companies and may not meet the same standard. If any of them do not work for you, we will help you get the same result another way:
- Scheduling (Calendly): tours and consultations are booked through Calendly. If the booking page does not work with your assistive technology, call us at 816-463-3532 and we will schedule for you.
- Reviews widget: the Google reviews shown on our site come from a third-party widget. The same reviews are available on our Google Business Profile.
- Maps and videos: embedded Google Maps and YouTube videos are provided by Google. Our address and directions are always available on our Contact page.
